Vision
Statement of the Three Forks Heritage Alliance
The document linked above was hand delivered to
Vernon Jones and John Gurbal on April 8, 2008.
It contains specific
ideas
that the THREE Forks Heritage Alliance would like to see incorporated
in the future development of
Mason Mill Park. If your vision is similar to ours this one, then please
support our effort to modify the actions of Dekalb
County to be in agreement with this document.

While Ciliax, who is on the steering committee,
acknowledged construction would be the ugliest part of the operation, she
said much of the area would be replanted with trees and shrubs (see
replanting plans
4.01
and 4.02
for the true story) afterward.
“And we’re going to be flexible [in regard to where the path will be
built],” she said. “If there’s an old, big tree, they’ll go around it.
We’re not going to cut it down.”

from The Champion 2/1/08
[ed. note: On Friday, May 16, the steering committee (mostly PATH
supporters) was told by PATH's Ed McBrayer that the trees above were to be
spared. On Monday, May 19 the trees were cut down, along with a large
stand of Mountain Laurel.]

Dekalb County
is spending close to 2
million dollars of your money on this un-needed and destructive
project while refusing to provide pay
increases to the police and fire departments.
Dekalb county is willing to disregard many of their own laws to allow this
project to continue.
Dekalb County ordered PATH to build this project based on an illegal
contract,
written without the required bidding or the
required approval of the BOC.
Dekalb County is using their own legal department and courts to prevent
citizen's efforts to enforce Dekalb's codes.
Dekalb County's Development Department has told PATH and their contractors
to ignore decisions
of the Dekalb County Zoning Board of Appeals.
Please help us to
correct these problems.
Donations are urgently needed.
Please consider helping with your dollars.
Donations so far have ranged from $5.00 to $500.00.
ALL donations go directly to pay legal and community engagement fees.
Any amount will be appreciated!
